I am so excited to have found out about Cleve Backster's work. I remember hearing something about the yogurt experiment when I lived in Key West back in the 70's when I studied Transcendental Meditation. But through the years I spent many years sailing around the world and having adventures. I never had contact again with Cleve's work until now. My husband and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our book and DVD and have already started research on obtaining and building some micro-electronic measuring devices. My husband is a retired PhD Research Physicist, and although originally skeptical, I now have him excited to pursue this work. We are retired, so have all the time we want to devote to studying this subject.

I am sure that some day Cleve will be acknowledged and exalted by the world of Science for his work! It angers me to hear he has been ignored and discounted. No one would spend more than half of their life trying to promote a hoax! Cleve's dedication and perseverance is to be totally respected and honored.

Hi,
I'm new to this, but I was wondering if there are any links or posts regarding musical bio-feedback devices?

Meaning, I've seen some little machines that you hook up a + and - lead to the leaf and root of a plant and then the plants electrical impulses make music. I want to develop and work with these tools to further my understanding of the benefit of music for plants.

Dear Cleve and Franci,
I came to Cleve's YouTube interview: via a round-about route relating to my research into the manifest problem of the evil on this planet and the answers thereto. I have never, for instance, understood 'why' there are carnivorous animals, or why humans eat animals. I have felt that something went wrong at a particular point in history to 'cause' that evil; for it is an evil. It is 'not' natural!
This was confirmed to me several years ago when watching film footage of African tigers catching a wildebeest, and the abject terror in the wildebeest’s eyes.
Another occasion when a farmer called his vet to assist him to deliver a calf, as the cow could not give birth naturally. The vet put his arm into the cow’s birth canal to grasp the feet of the calf, which came out stillborn. At that moment the cow turned its head round towards the vet and became aware that its baby was dead; then a single teardrop fell from the cow’s eye. It once again confirmed to me that animals had emotions.
The well publicised story a couple of years ago from England, when a truckload of pigs were being lead into a slaughterhouse; two of the pigs, in terror, jumped over a six foot high wall and escaped. This was another case proving that animals had emotions and sensed fear. (The positive end to this story was that an animal sanctuary owner offered to take in the two pigs, thus saving them from ‘murder.’)

My recent research to create a new focus for my political website, (I have two others in art and health), covers the history of wars on the planet, which go back to the dawn of time, and a particular sect of people that has a longer history of evil than any other group, and I needed to find the cause of this anomaly, which I have found.

Now I have come round to Cleve and others research in the area of plant experimentation in relation to ‘humanity’s’ problem of aggression and the prevalent evil on Earth, i.e. dog eat dog.

With forty years of research, Cleve has scientifically proven that all biological life has emotion and senses fear. (I have proven this; on one occasion ‘saving’ the life of a wasp that was upside down in a birdbath of water in the garden. I used a leaf to lift the wasp out of the water and placed it on the ground to dry off, and then carried on with other things. About ten minutes later I went back to see if the wasp was still there. It had gone. Then I saw a wasp fly in a full circle around me, and I realised it was the same wasp that came to say ‘thank you!’)

Were I to have a couple of million dollars I would fund substantial scientific research in this field, replicating Cleve’s work. It needs to be done, and shall be done.

Where will all this lead? It will lead to a re-evaluation of man’s whole attitude to life upon Earth and a new respect and approach to all living things.

Thank you Cleve, for your important scientific investigations proving that biological life is more than just matter.

I wish I could remember who was responsible for that most life changing gift I have ever received: The book “The secret life of plants” on my 15th Birthday. I started to read about Cleve Backster and others whom where experimenting with plants, their bio-signals and communication and became so intrigued, that I could not refrain from further investigation. A project publication in an electronic magazine about a medical instrumentation amplifier triggered the start to build my first green plant bio-signal measuring device. After finishing soldering all components together, I discovered that an old dishwasher perfectly fulfilled the purpose of a shielded measuring chamber. My family Doctor provided me with conductive EKG/EEG gel, and I was ready to measure. Carefully, I smeared a drop of that conductive paste onto my self made electrodes, and stuck it to the leaves of my Philodendron plant. To be able to display the plants bio-signals, I had borrowed an old mechanical x-t plotter from the Electronic lab at University Stuttgart, Germany, where I did a apprenticeship that time. The exciting life changing journey had begun. About Three years ago, the book Primary Perception triggered this passion to came back, and I started to develop a little device with a simple circuit, similar to the one of a polygraph, but instead of a needle moving on paper, the plants reactions causing a change in the light color of a illuminated glass cone. The Floranium Project was born. Floranium is still in the prototype state, but works well already. I have built about a dozen prototypes so far and I am still spending trillions of hours of fun to improve it. If someone is interested, here is the link: www.floranium.com. Hopefully, it will turn into a fun open source project some day, to create a global, green plant based bio-sensor network.

Thank you Cleve for changing my life as well!

Hello,

I read 'secret life of plants' in th early 70s. I am very interested in trying some experiments. I have recently obtained a USB device called a Neural Impulse Actuator, which is a headset used for computer gaming. It has alpha and beta wave detection capability, as well as EKG detection like eyeblinks and jaw-clenching. I would like to know if I can use this type of device?? Here is a link to the website:

If Cleve could see if this device could be used, I would be very appreciative.

Dear Chann

Neither Cleve nor I have read Mr. Valone's book about the implications - please write and let us know if it is worth reading!

Yours in truth,

Greetings Mr. Backster and Ms. Prowse,
Last night was the first time I came across Mr. Backster's findings on youtube during an interview. Amazing evidence of oneness. I've been seeking answers to synchronicity that I experience in my life more so now than ever (I am a 28 y/o female). I have ordered your book Primary Perception and Implications of the Backster Effect through Amazon today, I graciously look forward to expanding my idea of oneness through your eyes. Thank you for always seeking and never quitting. You truly are a rare enlightened human.

Blessings always,
Chann

WOW! I have use started my studies in human energy and how it is related to plant growth. I am impressed by the experament mr. backster has done. I have only found information on the studies he did in 1966 were can i read more recent experaments.
thank you kate

I know very well of primary perception. In its rudimentary form it can still be learned through meditative tecniques. You may want to read my blog about reincarnation that mentions the reason for primary perception available to all life forms. You can find it here:

it's a long way to go though for understanding ...
