Cleve is very fond of this quotation for obvious reasons:
“Those discoveries that most change the way we think about nature cannot be anticipated…. Beware of subtle, unexplained behavior; don’t dismiss it.
Frequently nature does not knock with a very loud sound but rather a very soft whisper, and you have to be aware of subtle behavior which may in fact be a sign that there is interesting physics to be had.” -Nobel Laureate Douglas Osheroff, July 2008

Back in the Lab
The same place where many of Cleve’s experiments and observations unfolded is now the scene of further research. Getting Cleve to talk about the old days IS the research. Being a pioneer in biocommunication, and never stinting on his generous sharing of knowledge, Cleve granted one more interview. Inspired by Nick Cook, of The Hunt for Zero Point fame, Robert Knight and his team showed up with a camera and some good questions about the early times, when things just happened. The working title for the documentary is No More Secrets! The Legacy of Ingo Swann.
The team included Paul Rivera, who makes giant amplifiers, and John Stahler, V.P. of the International Remote Viewing Association. At least I got a laugh when I said remote viewers were “psychics who refused to be called psychics.” They all agreed that “telepathy” is real, and that it describes many aspects of remote viewing and that Primary Perception could be the invisible vehicle. Cleve declared that Primary Perception happens before human perception, hence its name. By the time humans perceive an event, it has already occurred in the field. Robert Knight was clear in his questions and comments, one being that humans seem to be the last species to be getting tuned in to the Whole.
Here is an excerpt from the 2003 interview about the interaction of Cleve Backster and Ingo Swann. The Father of Primary Perception met the Father of Remote Viewing back in 1971! My impression is that these two men simply recognized what is going on and made it real in the lab. They have paid a price for being pioneers:
Cleve: I worked with Ingo Swann back in New York. The light from the sun takes 11 minutes to hit the earth. When sun spots kick up, they create a lot of disruption in our communications. (Coronal Mass Ejections) He was able to tell the researchers at Stanford Research Institute when it was happening in the sun, and about 11 minutes later, they would hit here. That’s so important, and yet people make believe it doesn’t exist.
Franci: Wasn’t Ingo Swann one of the early remote viewers for the “black program” sponsored by the CIA that used trained psychics to gather information for their intelligence organizations? He was one of the first talents to be tested in government labs, blowing their minds. He also was responsible for the use of “co-ordinates” or Latitude and Longitude for testing remote viewers, to see if they are “on target.” There were also some out-of-body travelers who can go and see what’s going on up there in space, or to any target where the military sends them. It was said that Ingo Swann and Hal Puthoff helped to set up those programs which never officially existed. They’ve come out and established the International Remote Viewers Association and have their conferences now. I read that Swann attributed some of the development of his talent to working with you in your lab back in New York.
Cleve: Yes, we did some work with plants. He could cause them to react, and from across the room, just by focusing and visualizing a picture of fire or acid. They would respond to his mental thought projection several times in a row and then quit. He was impressed that the plant seemed to learn his true intention. We also played around with graphite. That taught him how to narrow his focus to the size of the tiny beam. Swann was at Stanford with Hal Puthoff, another friend of my work. I hear from them occasionally.
There is more written by Ingo about those days available online. http://www.biomindsuperpowers.com/Pages/2.htm
I spoke briefly with Ingo Swann about this event. He expressed his approval for the project, commended Nick Cook for bringing the idea around to Robert Knight for manifestation. I asked if he had any additional comments, and he said, “No, not really. I’m just so bored with my own stuff.” Honestly said, but as we know from research at Heartmath, boredom can kill your DNA! It made me think perhaps it’s time for Ingo to get out of New York and come to California. Who knows, perhaps we could make Remote Viewing into a religion! That way, people wouldn’t be so afraid, if it was just a practice for a small group of kooks. Ingo is aware that some people are afraid of remote viewing and that many individuals are uncomfortable with the ease with which their thoughts can be discerned. [The word witch comes to mind…many of them were rubbed out because of the abilities certain powers thought they had.] Nothing new to Cleve – if plants can do it, why not humans? Ingo concluded his comments with, “Well, if this movie actually comes out, a few of my enemies will turn green with envy!”
Other news:
An unusual offer came about recently when an author, Ingrid Dean, sent Cleve a boxful of her new book, Spirit of the Badge. Each book contains “60 true Police Stories of Divine Guidance, Miracles and Intuition.” She suggested that we give copies of her book to police officers in the school and people who donate to the Backster Research Foundation. Cleve and I will figure out the timing of that. Here is what he had to say about the book:
As a person active within the polygraph profession since 1948 and as the director of the Backster School of Lie Detection, now training its 179th class, I have had a unique opportunity to detect the attitudes of police officers, often positive but hidden, regarding on-the-job paranormal events.
My own Primary Perception research since 1966 has centered upon presenting a scientific basis for such events.
This recently published book, Spirit of the Badge, provides an opportunity for the subject to be more openly presented to other police officers and the public at large.

Latest notes from Bio Web Members – Enjoy!
Since I’ve been traveling, I’ve not been visiting San Diego or the lab, and have only chatted briefly with Cleve. He’s starting another 8 week polygraph class, so I salute the power of Truth, surrounding the science of Lie Detection.
Discerning truth from lie is still very important, for the wellbeing of our lives and sanity.
Instead of writing, in a moment of ease, I thought I’d share some of the letters I found waiting for me when I returned. It is difficult to tell who is a scientist and who may be a kook…but these are the days!
I’m sure Cleve will enjoy them as well. There is a certain degree of amusement I feel when people report on their experiences in the field of awareness.
Please feel free to respond with comments. Also check out the articles on: http://www.seri-worldwide.org/id184.html

In your January 2009 email you wrote regarding genetic engineering;
“This may be why it is an ethical issue, rather than pure science.”
Based on Dr Bruce Lipton’s work I disagree. There are unknown and
unpredictable dangers associated with genetic engineering. Excerpts
from
http://www.brucelipton.com/store/excerpt-chapter-one
“It had been thought that genes are passed on only to the progeny of
an individual organism through reproduction. Now scientists realize
that genes are shared not only among the individual members of a
species, but also among members of different species. The sharing of
genetic information via gene transfer speeds up evolution since
organisms can acquire learned experiences from other organisms.
. . .
Now that we are aware of this inter- and intra-species gene transfer
mechanism, the dangers of genetic engineering become apparent. For
example, tinkering with the genes of a tomato may not stop at that
tomato, but could alter the entire biosphere in ways that we cannot
foresee. Already there is a study that shows that when humans digest
genetically modified foods, the artificially created genes transfer
into and alter the character of the beneficial bacteria in the
intestine.
. . .
Genetic evolutionists warn that if we fail to apply the lessons of our
shared genetic destiny, which should be teaching us the importance of
cooperation among all species, we threaten human existence. We need to
move beyond Darwinian theory, which stresses the importance of
individuals, to one that stresses the importance of the community.
British scientist Timothy Lenton provides evidence that evolution is
more dependent on the interaction among species than it is on the
interaction of individuals within a species. Evolution becomes a
matter of the survival of the fittest groups rather than the survival
of the fittest individuals. In a 1998 article in Nature, Lenton wrote
that rather than focusing on individuals and their role in evolution,
We must consider the totality of organisms and their material
environment to fully understand which traits come to persist and
dominate.
Lenton subscribes to James Lovelock’s Gaia hypothesis that holds that
the Earth and all of its species constitute one interactive, living
organism. Those who endorse the hypothesis argue that tampering with
the balance of that super-organism called Gaia, whether it be by
destroying the rainforest, depleting the ozone layer or altering
organisms through genetic engineering, can threaten its survival and
consequently ours.” –Harry Parshall

Mucho gracias. My first inclination was to label this “placebo effect.” Then I remembered sodium bicarb is very alkaline. Did a google search on sodium bicarbonate and cancer. Many excellent references came up. Turns out the high alkalinity enhances oxygen absorption while assisting cells in getting rid of toxins. Several doctors are using it in cancer treatment. Excellent article at http://www.imva.info/essay_sodium_bicarb.shtml Plan to add a paragraph or two about this to the book. Book is presently with a graphics person to optimize the photos and convert to a pdf file that preserves hyperlinks.–JQP
Just gave a presentation last night to 15 people. It was called “Baking Soda, Cancer, and Me”. It went smoothly and the the people who attended appreciate being exposed to my story.
I still have some Cesium left also. And you are right on about listening to your body saying “No more!” When I increased my baking soda dosages to a tablespoon twice a day, my body told me to cut back. Which I did! My other method to determine dosages or non dosages is by using dowsing. I love it! I love communicating with other Aspects of my Self.
A fellow named Reno was at the presentation. He specializes in acupressure points with lymph nodes as his focus. People who know him have told me he is a Healer. I look forward to knowing him more. He reminded me of you because he handed out a picture of a human face with many pressure points on it. Not that he does the same as you; just the location (grin).–Vito

Dear Dr. Rupert Sheldrake.
I know you as a world topic scientific expert in this domain of science. Your books are on my bookshelf. I wish to approach you with a request : we wiil be grateful if you could give your opinion (review) about this work and tell us point out a scientific Journal for publication the one.
Alexander Dubrov
Dear Dr. Dubrov,
Thank you for your email and this remarkable paper. I’m certainly not an expert on talking cats, and I don’t think anyone is! This is a completely new phenomenon for me.
Have you personally witnessed the cat doing this, or is the analysis all based on recordings sent by the family? Also, the cat must have been extremely old when the study was done. I assume it is now dead.
I hope that if the paper is published it will also be possible to release on the internet a sound recording of the cat talking. This would be much more convincing to most people than the spectral analysis of the sound, although of course both are important.
I have no idea what journal to suggest. I suppose the Journal of Scientific Exploration is the most obvious possibility, since it covers fields of science that other journals do not.
With best wishes
Rupert Sheldrake
Dear Dr.Rupert Sheldrake,
Cordially thanks for your detailed answer!
All facts about speaking by human voice and words by animals were described in my book : “Talking Animals” .Common number of copies printed in Russia are -
90 000 exemplars in three Publ Houses in Moscow : ” Medicine”, 1995 -75 000; Parusa- 2001;-10 000; and “Phoenix” Rostov am Don-5000; 2006.
My books are not fantasy but they are scientific FACTS with phonograms and strong acoustiucal signals of speech animals( cat, elephant, dog, birds) and owners.
The new book ” Enigmas of marvelous(surprising) animals”will be publish by Folium ‘Publ., Moscow in July 2009. What is your opinion :there are Publishers in GB interested in translation of my books in English? If you require further information
I shalll be happy to give you.
I appreciate very much for your advice,
Alexander P. Dubrov, Ph.D.(Biology)

Hearsay:
I have found other evidence that testing of frequency medicine is not allowed — the FDA doesn’t want it known.
If you can give me (plus those I’m in touch with, anything more, great.
Have a good friend opened a sports medicine office and even got a grant to
study healing sport injuries with frequency … was shut down about 4 years ago … and told
that the device in her possession was illegal.
Also read an article talking about the vibration range of
a cats purr and it’s right in the middle of frequency used for healing broken bones … didn’t say
if that included BIG cats.
F: (Are they going to outlaw cat’s purring?)
Where did this happen and who shut her down?
It was in a physical therapy setting, her own office. She had a contract with the
Seattle Seahawks and I think but am not sure the UW had an interest … she also had a grant and gov
agencies had ok’d a test period …. could this form of therapy speed healing of sports injuries …. the side
effects [healing of other situations] and people talking about this drew too much attention….it was 4-5
years ago and I was just hearing these things through my friend .

Here’s a jewel:
Just performed a surprising and happy experiment.
I watched this ant slowly and laboriously moving a piece of leaf ten times its weight and size. The leaf kept getting stuck in obstacles along the way. And the ant kept finding a way to get it unstuck and move it along.
Other ants occasionally passed nearby, oblivious to the ant’s struggle with the leaf.
So I decided to see if I could get the next ant to go help out. I focused my sight directly on the next ant. I sent the thought “go this way,” and moved my right hand in that direction. Immediately, the ant turned and headed that direction!
But halfway there, it turned again and headed away. So I began sending the thought and waving my hand continuously. The ant immediately turned in that direction again, and went straight to the other ant. Now the two of them began moving the leaf much faster and easier than the one alone.
Eureka–primary communication! And a vivid illustration of the power of loving thought –JQP

In spite of many setbacks, those on the leading edge of research have progressed, albeit without much needed funding.
For those of you with an agenda of your own, I am about to create a Bio Web links page, just for you, your site, your inventions, your books. I just have to run each one by Cleve, so if you send one in, include a brief, concise description. And if we all agree your listing is in harmony with our site, please make sure you are a paid member of the Bio Web!!

Bio web letter 2009-04-06
Imagine a world where people have time to garden, and use that time for meditative interaction with Mother Nature, becoming intimate with the spirits of plants and animals, and learning how to love with deep respect and sacred trust in each other. That is the world becoming quite real in the former USSR. I took the workshop with Dr. Leonid Sharashkin in a group of like minded people – each developing their own domain, or gathering information about how to. The ideals set out by Anastasia, (whose name means “resurrection,”) by Vladimir Megre, are a huge leap from where we are in modern society. It doesn’t work to leap onto someone else’s path and reality. I’d have a tough time eating one pine nut at a time, and nibbling on grass and mushrooms instead of full meals. We must make our way step by step. Many lessons learned by groups of Russians who headed out to the country from the cities, were shared by Dr. Leo. I purchased his videos to help spread the word locally.
On my travels north I took an afternoon to visit William C. Gough, of Foundation for Mind-Being Research, and master of ceremonies at the FMBR meetings, including the one presentation by Cleve Backster I recently transferred to DVD. (for sale on the website) I enjoyed a simply delicious lunch with him and his wife, Marion, a musician/piano teacher. They live in Los Altos where the greenery grows year round. Eating on the patio, I could feel the sun activating all the plants, releasing oxygen– so unlike the high desert where I live. Bill has generously shared his research with Cleve and me over the last decade. I have a fascinating folder of interview/articles about organ donors and their recipients. Evidence he gathered suggests very strongly the carry-over of information and emotion (DNA?) from the donor which influences the behavior and preferences of the recipient. Amazing stories!
Bill Gough has recently published two important articles: Closing the Materials Cycle: A Route to Ecological Sustainability. “The science and technology needed to close the materials cycle from use to reuse will be presented as well as the environmental, economic, and social implications.” I’ve sent out the link to this article before.
Then, closer to his heart as a nuclear physicist: The IEC Fusion-Plasma Torch – A path for closing the materials cycle. Written with George H. Miley, this one is about fusion power, good clear explanation of alternative sources of clean energy. Bill explained to me the difference between fission and fusion – but I simply cannot write it from memory.
Basically fission separates and splits while fusion combines. My words can at least direct you to the website. http://www.n-plasma.com/
They are among the leading edge thinkers for alternative energies – please share this information with any scientists, government, political, general information links, so it becomes widespread. There are alternative ways to the coal burning, earth-gobbling, polluting electrical plants that we are paying for, more than ever before. No more piles of toxic waste! No more planned obsolescence!
Tesla Technology: This came through yesterday from Ralph Squire – perhaps evidence that visionary minds think alike. How are we to survive the coming times unless we implement change – and how are these changes in system going to be implemented without further support and research?
www.fusionenergysystems.com – “Please go into my website fusionenergysystems.com and read about my invention that would permit a typical town of 60,000 people to do triple duty–water filtration, power generating and power dispensing. This device would create steam at 2200C, delivered to turbines to generate electricity and then with step up wiring bring the electricity up to 100,000,000 Volts and 50,000 cycles which could be put into a wire around the town on poles. Then each house and car could have an antenna and converter which would convert the power to 220 V and 60 cycles. That way after the steam has gone through the turbines, it could be sent to the water system for handling the town’s water needs. The whole plant would be on real estate taxes and power would be free.” -John Van Drie Sr.
I happened to visit www.fmbr.org and noticed the Living Matrix Movie being offered. Bioenergetics is one of the new scientific approaches to healing. This one features luminaries such as our friend Lynne McTaggart, Bruce Lipton, Rollin McCraty, Rupert Sheldrake, and others declaring a whole new approach to healing the body, understanding how our nervous system actually works, how belief plays a key role, how words trigger us. The old model of being subject to our codes, our DNA is being dismantled. It’s about time! Information is the revolution. www.thelivingmatrixmovie.com/media
Yesterday, Sunday the 5th of April, I felt a huge wave of solar energy hit. It felt as though it was burning away the winter cool air and bringing in a hot spring. My two friends and I were noticing a sleepy feeling in the air so we fought it with tea and conversation. One theme was the disappearance of time. The energy made us feel sleepy, but inspired, and then I noticed my polarity was reversed. Can a light from the sun, even without sunspots, cause our personal poles to flip? NASA says we are at “deep solar minimum.” This means there are no sunspots and less solar wind to defer cosmic radiation.

Please let me know if you have experienced anything similar, or if you notice the effect on plants.
